A former Vice President of Nigeria and Peoples Democratic Party presidential candidate in the 2023 election, Atiku Abubakar and a former Governor of Anambra and Labour Party presidential candidate in the 2023 election, Peter Obi met in Abuja on Sunday on how to plot the fall of President Bola Tinubu in the 2027 presidential election.

Others in the attendance included a former Governor of Rivers State, Mr Rotimi Amaechi, and former Governor of Osun State, Ogbeni Rauf Aregbesola, and other political leaders who attended a close door dialogue with the National Political Consultative Group forum at the Abuja Continental Hotel in Abuja.

The Sunday meeting however descended into chaos as delegates from Jigawa State briefly disrupted the proceedings.

The dialogue was organised by the National Political Consultative Group, but was disrupted following a disagreement over representation for Jigawa State.

Tensions rose when a former Secretary to the Government of the Federation, Babachir Lawal, announced a delegate to speak for Jigawa State, an action that did not sit well with people from the state.

While this was ongoing, security personnel quickly formed a protective barrier around key figures such as Atiku, Amaechi , Aregbesola and others.

Calm was restored after several minutes of appeals, as Mustapha Lamido, son of former Jigawa State Governor Sule Lamido, along with another delegate, was chosen to speak on behalf of the state.
