The 2023 presidential candidate of the Labour Party, Peter Obi has declared his intention to contest the 2027 presidential election.

In an interview on Sunday night, Obi dismissed claims that he will step down for former vice president Atiku Abubakar to be the candidate of the new coalition party under the platform of the African Democratic Congress (ADC).

He said on Sunday, “I’m going to contest for the President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, and I believe I am qualified for it.

“I am part of the coalition which will be able to produce a president with the capacity and compassion to save this country.”
