The Minister of State for Labour and Employment, Nkeiruka Onyejeocha, has expressed optimism that President Bola Tinubu will receive significant support from the South-East states in the 2027 presidential election.

Speaking during an interactive session with newsmen on the sidelines of her free medical and surgery outreach in Abia, Onyejeocha predicted that Tinubu would sweep the votes in the South-East region.

According to Onyejeocha, Tinubu’s current reforms across the country will lead to a significant improvement in his performance in Abia and the South-East in general. She stated that the people of the region will support Tinubu for a second term, citing the need for his policies to endure and take root.

“I know that he will get 100 per cent votes in the South-East in 2027,” Onyejeocha said. “Abia is a progressive state, and I know that my party, the APC, will do well in the state.”

The minister’s comments come as part of her efforts to promote Tinubu’s policies and reforms in the region. Onyejeocha emphasized the importance of supporting the president to enable him to complete his agenda.

The free medical outreach, which is ongoing in Umunneochi LGA of Abia, is one of Onyejeocha’s initiatives aimed at enhancing the well-being of her people. She stated that the initiative is driven by her passion and commitment to supporting individuals facing various health challenges, particularly those in rural areas and underserved communities.

Onyejeocha added that a healthy community is a wealthy community, and that her efforts are aimed at adding value to the government’s initiatives. “It’s not like you are helping the government; I’m helping myself because a healthy community is a wealthy community,” she said.
