The Presidency has boasted that President Bola Tinubu will enjoy robust support from the South-East during the 2027 presidential election.
According to presidential special adviser, Daniel Bwala during a recent interview on Channels Television, Tinubu will secure over two million votes in the region.
The presidential aide pointed out that most governors in the region have thrown their weight behind President Tinubu regardless of party affiliation.
He said, “You see the South-East, I guarantee you President Bola Tinubu is going to get more than four times, if not six times, the value of the vote he got. He will get up to two million.”
Speaking on the South-South region, he said, “When you go to the South-South, when President Bola Tinubu came, you know most of the governors were PDP governors, tell me a state in the South-South that is not supporting Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu now? Even the one whose governor said he remained a member of PDP said he endorsed Bola Tinubu.
“Come to the North-West, the governors are coming out, talking about the policies of the President and how they will support him. Are they not the ones with the structure?”
Bwala also said that the votes former Labour Party presidential candidate, Peter Obi garnered at the 2023 election had been reduced by 50 percent.
“He is not going to get a ticket in any of the parties. That is Peter Obi. The problem now is that he might not get the vice presidential ticket from the way things are going.
“Whether Peter Obi is a ticket bearer of the party, he has lost his 50 percent of votes because they were not votes built on agenda and politics, but they were built on rhetoric and division, and Nigeria’s people’s eyes are open,” he said.
