Senator Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan has celebrated her status as the most searched Nigerian personality on Google’s 2025 Year in Search report.
This was contained in a post she made via Facebook on Thursday evening where she thanked Nigerians for helping her achieve the feat.
The Kogi Central senator expressed her love for her senatorial district, state and Nigeria.
She wrote, “Nigerians you did this and here’s your trophy.
“Out of 237 million people I emerged the most search person with an ‘unprecedented public interest’ around a raising political profile.
“They shut me out of the senate for 6 months, till date, I still struggle to speak on topical issues but I thank God and the people for lifting me up.”
She added, “Google’s Most Searched Person 2025. Na my new badge be that now.”
Former President Muhammadu Buhari, Akpoti-Uduaghan, and the viral toy sensation, Labubu, were among the most searched topics in Nigeria in 2025, according to Google’s Year in Search report released on Thursday.
The report provides insight into how Nigerians used the internet this year to follow major events, track cultural trends, engage with entertainment, and process moments of national significance.
According to the report, Natasha Akpoti drew “unprecedented public interest” as Nigerians followed developments around her rising political profile.
International events, including the Israel–Iran war and the U.S. elections, also ranked prominently among news-related searches.
