Two suspected kidnappers have been arrested by operatives of the Adamawa State Police Command for allegedly abducting residents of Sarau Belel community in Maiha Local Government Area in the state.
The command disclosed this in a statement signed by its spokesman, Suleiman Nguroje, on Saturday morning, noting that the arrest was made on Boxing Day.
“On December 26, 2025, the Command received a complaint from Emmanuel Daniel, a resident of Sagal Village, Sarau Belel, who reported that he was threatened with kidnapping by two individuals,” the statement said.
The statement added that the suspects also claimed responsibility for the kidnapping of Emmanuel Daniel’s younger brother, Joshua Daniel, in November 2024.
It explained that upon receipt of the complaint, the Commissioner of Police in the state, CP Dankombo Morris, immediately deployed the Divisional Police Officer (DPO) of Sarau Belel and operatives of the division to carry out a coordinated operation, which led to the arrest of the two suspects.
The suspects were identified as Sunday Yakubu, aged 36, and Daniel Yakubu, aged 38, both residents of Konjoli Village in Maiha LGA.
The statement added that following their confession to the allegations, the suspects are currently assisting the command with useful information.
