The African Democratic Congress (ADC) has announced the composition of its 50-member Wise Men and Women Policy and Manifesto Committee, tasked with crafting a people-centred policy framework for national governance.
In a statement signed by Bolaji Abdullahi, National Publicity Secretary of the ADC on Wednesday, the committee is chaired by former Senate President, Chief John Odigie-Oyegun, with Professor Pat Utomi as Deputy Chairman and Salihu Lukman as Secretary.
The committee comprises a diverse group of Nigerians, including former public office holders, academics, technocrats, policy experts, civil society leaders, and professionals, representing a wealth of experience in governance, economic management, social development, security, and democratic reform.
According to the party, the committee’s mandate is to articulate a clear, coherent, and credible policy direction that reflects the aspirations of Nigerians and positions the ADC as a serious alternative platform for responsible leadership and national renewal.

The formal inauguration of the committee is scheduled for Monday, February 2, 2026, at 12 noon, at the Conference Hall of the ADC National Secretariat, Abuja.
The ADC reaffirmed its belief that Nigeria’s challenges require ideas rooted in competence, integrity, and national consensus, and expresses confidence that the committee will deliver a manifesto that speaks to the real needs of Nigerians.
Members of the committee include notable Nigerians such as Sen. Gershon Bassey, Sen. J.J. Akpan Udo-Udeghe, Amb Abiye Mohammed, H.E. Simon Achuba, Prof. Ibrahim Garba, Bala Usman, Bulus Bello Zaki Piko, Ose Anenih, Dr Nicholas Msheliza, Dr David Olofu, Dr Okey Ezegwu, Dr Mohammed Jibrin Yusufari, Joel Adi Gani, Prof. Jude Njoku, Miss Yemi Adamolekun, Prof. Anthony Kila, Nkovo Toyo, Dr Usman Bugaje, Oseloka Obaze, Dr Otive Igbuzor, Engr. Bello Suleiman, Prof. Chidi Odinkalu, AVM Sadique Abubakar, Madam Jumoke Olawuyi, Prof. Murtala Sagagi, Dr Kerian Wobodo, Dr Fatima Zara Saleh, Prof. Kolapo Eleka, Barr Makber Oson Jacob.
Others are, Prof. Remi Sonaiya, Moji Ajayi (Mrs), Prof. Sam Amadi, Dr Babayo Ardo, Pastor Funke Awowolo, Dr Ndubuisi Nwobu, Hon. Aminu Muhammad Gumel, Ngozi Ndukwe, Prof. Doknan Disent Sheni, Prof. Saheed Malik, Dr Sunday Taiwako Anyabuga, Ms Helen Yashin, Dr John Markus Ayuba, Dr Chike Okogwu, Barr. (Mrs) Salametu A. Izuagie, Chief (Mrs) Uwaoma Olevengwa, Alhaja Hafsat Moji Bello and Hon. Sani Yakubu Noma.
The party’s National Chairman, Senator David A. B. Mark, GCON, approved the committee’s constitution, in line with the party’s commitment to building a credible policy framework.
The ADC invited all concerned members and relevant stakeholders to take note of the committee’s inauguration and forthcoming activities.
