Former Nigeria women’s national team goalkeeper, Precious Dede, has rejoiced with her younger sister, who welcomed a set of quadruplets after many years of waiting for a child.
The 46-year-old announced the news via her Facebook page on Sunday.
The shot stopper wrote, “After many years of waiting, God showed up in the most beautiful way — four precious blessings at once. Double the boys, double the girls, quadruple the joy.
“Our hearts are full beyond words. Years of prayers, tears and hope have now turned into four miracles. God is faithful. From waiting to overflowing. One pregnancy, four heartbeats. Endless joy. Proof that delay is not denial. He turned our waiting into wonders.
“When God writes your story, He makes it beautiful in His time. God didn’t just answer, He overdelivered. Congratulations to my family.”
Amid online conversations among Nigerians who were not clear about who the mother of the quadruplets is, Dede shared a fresh post on Monday to make clarification.
“Thanks so much for the love and congrats! Just a quick note: My amazing little Sister is the real MVP here. She’s the mum of the quadruplets, not me,” she stated.
Dede enjoyed an illustrious career with the Super Falcons, featuring at four FIFA Women’s World Cup tournaments — 2003, 2007, 2011 and 2015.
She also represented Nigeria at three Women’s Olympic Football Tournaments (2000, 2004 and 2008) and competed in several Women’s Africa Cup of Nations tournaments, winning the title in 2010 and 2014.
Dede retired from active football in 2016 and obtained a CAF C coaching licence in 2024.
In November 2025, she was appointed by the West Africa Football Union Zone B (WAFU-B) as its Women’s Football Development Manager.
