Deji Adeyanju: Ex-IGP Egbetokun created enemies for Tinubu

Activist lawyer Deji Adeyanju has slammed former Inspector General of Police Kayode Egbetokun, alleging that his tenure created unforeseen challenges for President Bola Tinubu, essentially leaving a ticking time bomb for the administration.

Adeyanju, speaking to the press about Egbetokun’s removal, asserted that the former IGP is reaping what he sowed, saying “karma’s caught up with him”.

He cautioned public officials to tread carefully in their dealings with Nigerians, reminding them that power is fleeting.

He said, “Egbetokun inherited so many enemies for his principal, President Bola Tinubu. As a public office holder, you should know that you will never be in power forever.

“Karma has come for Malami, El-Rufai and Egbetokun. Karma is going to come for many of them that will soon be out of government.

“We must always circumspect when dealing with citizens. Many of them like Egbetokun used their offices to victimize people”.

Recall that President Tinubu on Wednesday decorated Tunji Disu with the rank of acting Inspector-General of Police, replacing Egbetokun.

Prior to his removal, Egbetokun faced stiff resistance from several Nigerians, especially activists, who accused him of illegally occupying the office.
