Saudi Aramco has suspended operations at its Ras Tanura refinery in Saudi Arabia following a reported drone attack in the area, Reuters reports.

Ras Tanura, one of the world’s largest oil refining and export hubs, has a daily refining capacity of approximately 550,000 barrels and serves as Saudi Arabia’s primary oil export terminal.

The facility processes around 6.5 million barrels of crude oil daily, with roughly 7% of the world’s oil supply passing through this location.

Reports indicate the attack was carried out by Iran amid rising regional tensions, affecting critical Aramco infrastructure.

Following the strike, a fire reportedly broke out in the refinery’s processing complex.

Authorities say the blaze has been contained, and no casualties have been confirmed.

Recall that series of strikes by the US and Israel against Iran began Saturday, 28th February, 2026.
