A factional National Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Kabiru Tanimu Turaki, SAN, has extended warm Eid Mubarak greetings to Muslims in Nigeria and around the world.

As the Muslim faithful celebrate Eid-el-Fitr, marking the end of the sacred month of Ramadan, Turaki urged Nigerians to reflect on the values of patience, compassion, and unity.

In a statement issued on Friday, Turaki emphasised the significance of Ramadan, highlighting its teachings of sacrifice, discipline, and devotion to Allah.

He noted that Ramadan is a period of deep spiritual reflection, reminding Muslims of the importance of humility, generosity, and selflessness.

“Ramadan is a period of deep spiritual reflection, sacrifice, discipline, and devotion to Almighty Allah. It reminds us of the enduring values of patience, compassion, humility, and generosity, values that are essential not only in our personal lives, but also in building a just and peaceful society,” Turaki said.

The PDP Chairman encouraged Muslims to carry forward the spirit of Ramadan, promoting unity, selflessness, and support for the less privileged.

He stressed that the lessons of Ramadan should guide Nigerians’ conduct beyond the fasting period, fostering a sense of shared responsibility and collective effort towards building a more inclusive and peaceful nation.

“The lessons of Ramadan do not end with the fasting period. They must continue to guide our conduct. Let us carry forward the spirit of sacrifice, unity, and selflessness. Let us support the less privileged, strengthen our bonds as a people, and work together to build a Nigeria that is inclusive, peaceful, and full of opportunity,” he urged.

Turaki also prayed for Nigeria’s peace, stability, and prosperity, citing challenges such as economic hardship, insecurity, and social tension.

He called on Nigerians to work together towards building a more inclusive and peaceful nation, emphasizing the importance of unity in diversity.

“These challenges call for sincere prayer, renewed faith, and a shared sense of responsibility. I urge all Muslims, and indeed all Nigerians, to use this solemn moment to pray fervently to Almighty Allah (SWT) for relief from hardship, for an end to violence and division, and for healing within our nation and across the world,” he said.

The PDP Chairman’s message comes amidst ongoing internal party conflicts, with Turaki’s leadership being contested by a faction led by Nyesom Wike.

Despite these challenges, Turaki emphasised the resilience of Nigerians and the importance of unity in diversity.

“Even in difficult times, the resilience of the Nigerian people remains strong. Our shared humanity, our diversity, and our hope for a better future must continue to unite us,” he said.
