Controversial cleric, Chukwuemeka Ohanaemere, widely known as Prophet Odumeje, has been recognised by the Nigerian Police Force, Zone 13, Anambra, with an honourary patron title.
The police authorities described the preacher as a “bold and fearless figure” whose influence cuts across Nigeria and beyond.
Odumeje, who leads the Mountain of Holy Ghost Intervention and Deliverance Ministry, is known for his dramatic style of preaching, including wrestling-themed deliverance sessions, as well as his foray into music collaborations with Afrobeats star Flavour.
The cleric shared footage of the presentation on Instagram on Tuesday, showing the moment he received the honour from the zonal chaplain, Emmanuel Madu, during a church service. Madu, a Chief Superintendent of Police, said the decision followed a detailed review of Odumeje’s ministry and public persona.
According to him, the recognition was based on the preacher’s visibility and outspoken approach, which he noted has earned him widespread attention, particularly online.
Odumeje, who has built a large following through his unconventional sermons and self-styled titles like “Indaboski” and “The Liquid Metal,” welcomed the honour, reiterating his reputation for boldness.
Quoting scripture, he maintained that his message is backed by “proofs, facts and confirmations,” while describing himself in dramatic terms as a force to be reckoned with.
The latest recognition adds to his history of public accolades. In 2020, he was named a national patron of the Actors Guild of Nigeria.
