Chelsea FC has dismissed head coach Liam Rosenior, bringing his time at the club to an end.

In a statement released on Wednesday, the club expressed appreciation for Rosenior and his coaching staff, acknowledging their commitment and work during their tenure.

It noted that he handled his role with “integrity and professionalism” after taking over midway through the season.

Despite the praise, the club said the decision followed a run of underwhelming results and performances that failed to meet expectations, particularly at a crucial stage of the campaign.

“This has not been a decision the Club has taken lightly,” the statement added, while wishing Rosenior success in his future career.

Assistant coach Calum McFarlane has been appointed interim head coach and will oversee the team until the end of the season, working alongside the current backroom staff.

Chelsea stated that attention will now shift to securing European qualification and advancing in the FA Cup, while the club begins a thorough process to appoint a permanent manager.
