Former Labour Party presidential candidate, Peter Obi, has said Nigeria is blessed with many talented youths like Victor Osimhen who need the right leadership, support, and environment to excel.
The presidential hopeful, in a post shared on X on Monday, congratulated the Super Eagles striker on winning the Turkish Süper Lig title with Galatasaray.
Obi celebrated Osimhen’s outstanding contribution to Galatasaray’s title-winning campaign, where the Nigerian forward scored twice in the decisive match that sealed the championship.
“The truth is that Nigeria is blessed with countless talents like Osimhen, waiting for the right leadership, support, and environment to rise, excel, and bring glory to the nation,” Obi wrote.
He praised the striker’s resilience, discipline, and dedication, describing him as a shining example for millions of young Nigerians.
“I want to join other fans in congratulating one of Nigeria’s many talented exports, Victor Osimhen, for successfully leading Galatasaray S.K. to the Turkish Süper Lig title with a brilliant performance.”
Obi added that Osimhen’s achievements on the global stage continue to bring honour to Nigeria and inspire hope among the youth.
“Your resilience, discipline, and talent continue to inspire millions of young Nigerians to believe in the power of hard work, dedication, and excellence.”
The former Anambra State governor also used the opportunity to reiterate his call for greater investment in sports and youth development, stressing that a better Nigeria remains possible.
“I reiterate that a new Nigeria, where all sectors develop simultaneously for the balanced growth and health of the nation is POssible.”
