English giants Arsenal have taken the lead against Paris Saint-Germain in the 2026 UEFA Champions League final currently taking place at the Puskás Aréna in Budapest, Hungary.

The Gunners, who entered the final seeking their first-ever Champions League title, made a bright start to the highly anticipated showdown and were rewarded with the opening goal, sending Arsenal supporters into celebration as they moved a step closer to European glory.

Arsenal’s dream start to the UEFA Champions League final came in the fifth minute when Kai Havertz found the back of the net to hand the Gunners an early lead against Paris Saint-Germain.

The final pits Premier League champions Arsenal against defending champions PSG in one of the biggest matches in club football.

Mikel Arteta’s side arrived in Budapest with confidence after an impressive European campaign that saw them reach their first Champions League final since 2006. PSG, led by Luis Enrique, were aiming to retain the trophy after eliminating Bayern Munich in the semi-finals.

The match remains finely poised, with PSG expected to respond as they chase an equaliser. Arsenal, however, will be hoping to maintain their advantage and make history by lifting Europe’s most prestigious club trophy for the first time.
