Former Delta State Governor, Ifeanyi Okowa, has paid glowing tribute to his wife, Edith Okowa, on her 65th birthday, crediting her sacrifices, prayers, counsel and unwavering support for many of the achievements recorded by their family and throughout his years in public service.

In a heartfelt birthday message on Monday, Okowa described his wife as an exceptional woman whose life has been marked by grace, strength, compassion, wisdom and deep Christian faith.

The former governor said he had been privileged to witness those qualities over more than four decades of marriage, noting that Edith had remained a constant source of love and inspiration to their family while positively impacting the lives of many people through her service and kindness.

According to him, her steadfast support played a significant role in helping him navigate both family responsibilities and the demands of public office.

“Through every season of our journey together, you have stood with dignity, courage, and steadfast devotion. Your sacrifices, prayers, counsel, and quiet strength have contributed immensely to all that we have been able to accomplish as a family and in public service,” Okowa said.

He further described his wife as a pillar of support and a beacon of hope to many people whose lives had been touched by her generosity and commitment to service.

Reflecting on her milestone birthday, the former governor expressed gratitude to God for her life and for what he described as the immeasurable blessings she has brought to their family over the years.

“As you mark this milestone birthday, I thank God for the gift of your life and for the immeasurable blessings He has bestowed upon us through you,” he stated.

Okowa prayed for continued good health, peace, joy, fulfilment and divine favour for his wife, expressing confidence that her most impactful years were still ahead.

“Edith, your life is a blessing, your legacy is enduring, and your best years are still ahead,” he added.

The former governor’s tribute drew attention to the often unseen role played by spouses of public office holders, as he publicly acknowledged his wife’s influence and support throughout his personal life and political career.
