Cult clash claims three lives, scores injured in Ondo—Police

The Police in Ondo State have confirmed three people dead over clashes between two rival cult groups in Ondo Town, Ondo East Local Government Area of the state.

DSP Olushola Ayanlade, the command’s spokesperson, confirmed this on Wednesday in Akure.

Ayanlade, who said that the clash started on Monday evening and continued on Tuesday, said many people were also injured.

“There was a cult clash on Monday and yesterday. Meanwhile, this morning, the state Commissioner of Police is having an on-the-spot assessment of the situation.

“Three people have been confirmed dead, which we believe they were related and involved in the cult clash, while some other individuals were injured.

“Our men have been deployed and we encourage members of the public to go about their lawful business without fear and panic,” Ayanlade said.
