The Convener of Hope Platform Initiative, Mathias Tsado, has advised the Nigerian Senate to regard the embattled Senator of Kogi Central, Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan as their “star girl”.
In a Tuesday morning interview with Channels Television, Tsado argued that despite her controversial suspension, Natasha remains the Senate’s source of inspiration to young Nigerians.
He said, “I heard her yesterday when she said she was going to wait to resolve with the document but I’m calling on the Nigerian Senate to man up and forget about these theatrics.
“These are not the things Nigerians want to see. As of yesterday, I was reading a poll conducted by API and 82 per cent of Nigerians don’t have confidence in the Nigerian Senate. Now, their star girl, the person who is supposed to be their number 9 striker is the one they are attacking.
“In the midst of everything going wrong, Senator Natasha is still touching the lives of people so she has become the source of inspiration to many young people. The Senate should have been worshiping her as their star girl.”
Recall that the Federal High Court in Abuja voided her suspension and ordered her immediate reinstatement, describing the disciplinary action by the Senate as “excessive, unconstitutional, and a violation of her constituents’ rights.”
