Up-and-coming Nollywood actress, Omotola Odunsi, is dead.
The sudden death of Odunsi was made public by her colleague, Akinola Akano, popularly known as Segbowe.
Segbowe, in an emotional tribute he penned down on his Instagram page on Thursday, disclosed that the deceased informed him she was feeling better after being unwell.
Sharing screenshots of their chat, Segbowe said “Motola! Strange but I tried checking on you at the wee hours of that morning.
“You said you were FINE & BACK! This is a rude shock, Omotola! Journey well, sister. God be with your family.”
Segbowe’s comment section was flooded by fans and colleagues of the late rising actress, who mourned her death.
Reacting, ace actor, Odunlade Adekola wrote, “Jesus Christ. RIP Omotola.”
Odunsi began her acting journey in stage productions while studying at Olabisi Onabanjo University.
She later worked as a credit officer at a state‑owned bank, before resigning in 2019 to pursue acting full-time.
In 2018, she successfully auditioned for Odunlade Adekola Films Production, where she began her professional on‑set career.
She has featured prominently in several movies such as Lisabi: The Uprising, Ajanaku, Darkness, Ogo Oluwa, Dagogo, Ariran, Doctor Adunni, Folagbade, President Kuti, Amonata, Officer Adaeze, Ifedayo and Ayanmo Ire.
