Ansaru terror boss Mahmud Usman jailed for 15 years

A leader of the Ansaru terror group, Mahmud Usman, has been sentenced to 15 years imprisonment by a Federal High Court sitting in Abuja on Thursday.

Usman had pleaded guilty to charges of illegal mining of California stones without lawful authority, which proceeds were used for the purchase of arms and ammunition.

Justice Emeka Nwite sentenced Usman to 15 years in prison and ordered that he be remanded in the custody of the DSS.
