Rumours alleging that opposition leaders under the platform of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) are plotting to topple the administration of President Bola Tinubu has been dismissed by Former Minister of Police Affairs, Adamu Waziri.
According to Waziri, the claim is not only misleading and malicious, it is a cheap blackmail by the Presidency.
However, Waziri declared that he would not hesitate to remove the Tinubu-led government if any democratic means were currently available to do so.
The former minister added that he would have to wait for the next general election to sack Tinubu from office, stressing that opposition leaders have no plan for removing the president in an undemocratic manner.
He said, “If I have the democratic means to remove this government tomorrow I would remove this government.”
“But I don’t have the democratic means so I have to wait for two years to do so. We are not toppling this government as Onanuga said. We are going to democratically remove this government.
“It is cheap blackmail to say that people are planning to oust the government. We are challenging this government on democratic means.”
