Former Vice President Atiku Abubakar and the 2023 presidential candidate of the Labour Party, Peter Obi on Wednesday went to Daura, Katsina State pray at the graveside of the late former president Muhammadu Buhari.
The former Kaduna State Governor, Nasir El-Rufai, was also present for the visit, which was also meant to console the family of the late Nigerian leader.
The former military leader and president died in London on Sunday and was buried on Tuesday in Daura according to Islamic rites.
The state burial was attended by President Bola Tinubu and a host of dignitaries.
However, Obi came under attack in some sections of social media for missing the burial.
Some netizens loyal to the All Progressives Congress (APC) slammed the opposition leader for his absence at the well-attended function.
It is unclear if his Wednesday visit is connected to the backlash on social media.
