The All Progressives Congress (APC) has advised governors elected on the platform of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) to accept the defeat of the just concluded by-election.
This was contained in a statement by Felix Morka, the APC National Publicity Secretary in Abuja on Monday.l, where he described the PDP governors’ allegations of undemocratic conduct by the APC as “frivolous and senseless.”
The APC attributed its dominant victory in the by-elections to the success of President Bola Tinubu’s Renewed Hope policies and programs, which are resonating with Nigerians.
According to the party, the electorates’ solid confidence in the APC is a testament to the party’s commitment to delivering transformative governance.
The APC noted that the PDP’s defeat in the by-elections is a categorical declaration of loss of confidence and rejection of the party by the voting public, emphasising that the opposition party’s decline is evident in its inability to manage its internal affairs and drive progress in the states governed by its members.
The APC urged the PDP governors to accept the outcome of the by-elections and acknowledge the party’s loss of relevance. According to the party, the PDP’s allegations of undemocratic conduct by the APC are baseless and lack merit.
The APC emphasised that President Tinubu’s Renewed Hope agenda is paving a new path of prosperity for Nigeria. The party urged Nigerians to ignore the PDP’s empty and misleading rhetoric and stand with the APC as it continues to work towards a brighter future for all Nigerians.
The statement added, “The PDP Governors should eat the humble pie and accept the bye-elections verdict as a categorical declaration of loss of confidence and rejection of their party by the voting public.”
