The Civil Defence, Correctional, Fire and Immigration Services Board (CDCFIB) has announced a temporary suspension of its recruitment portal.

In a statement on Thursday, the Secretary to the Board, retired Maj.-Gen. Abdulmalik Jubril said that the temporary suspension was to optimise the efficiency of the recruitment portal.

The recruitment process which is for job applicants in any of the paramilitary agencies was moved until July 21 over the glitches experienced by users of the portal.

Jubril said, “This development will ensure that the portal accommodates the high level of applications while guaranteeing a smooth, transparent, and fair recruitment process.

“We appreciate the enthusiasm and interest of young Nigerians to serve their country through these vital agencies.”

Earlier, the agency had admitted its error, stating that, “We feel your pain because we understand, and deeply regret the inconveniences and existing limitations on the course of applying on our new recruitment portal for your desired service.

“From uneasy, redirected gateway and limited portal access to glitches and missing details on your final printouts, we are aware of it all and assure that you are not alone, all will be fixed and these protocol errors will be entirely adjusted and corrected.”

The portal is dedicated to recruitment into paramilitary agencies — the Nigeria Immigration Service (NIS), the Nigeria Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), the Nigeria Fire Service (NFS), and the Nigerian Correctional Service (NCS).
