The leader of INRI Evangelical Spiritual Church, Primate Elijah Ayodele, has claimed that the US government is plotting to unseat President Bola Tinubu in 2027.
Ayodele, in a statement by his media aide, Osho Oluwatosin, warned that the plot is tied to the wave of genocide reports being escalated by the US.
The American president had on Saturday threatened the world’s most populous black nation with war, saying he had directed the Pentagon to prepare plans for possible military intervention in Nigeria over alleged failure to stop attacks on Christians.
In a social media post, Trump warned that Washington could halt aid to Nigeria and “go in guns-a-blazing” if the government “continues to allow the killing of Christians.”
He added that he had instructed the “Department of War to prepare for possible action,” saying any strike would be “fast, vicious, and sweet.”
The remarks followed his announcement a day earlier, declaring Nigeria a “Country of Particular Concern” over alleged persecution of Christians — a move that drew immediate criticism from President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.
Reacting, Primate Ayodele stated that it is an orchestrated plan of the opposition to remove Tinubu from power in 2027 or before then.
“I have been talking about America fighting Tinubu’s government, but they didn’t take cognizance. When I spoke about the coup, some political commentators criticised it, but what has happened now?
“Some call me permutation prophet, some call me doom, but everything has been coming to pass.
“Tinubu’s government must not sleep on it, it is a plan to send the government of Tinubu off in 2027. Beyond the allegations, it’s an orchestrated plan to send Tinubu out of power. The president hasn’t seen it that way.”
He stated that it is a means to deviate the strength of Tinubu’s government and a move to silence him for the opposition to rise.
He revealed that oppositions have concluded their dealings with some international countries to remove Tinubu from office, while calling on the government to get to work.
“Either Tinubu likes it or not, it’s a signal to deviate from the strength and power of his government. It’s a move to silence his government for opposition to rise. The opposition has completed their dealings with some international countries to get support to remove Tinubu from office.
“It’s a gang-up plan to remove you from office. Don’t sleep, more is coming. He needs to seek the face of God. The American government doesn’t want Tinubu in 2027.”
