Cops, soldiers, vigilantes launch manhunt for Ondo APC chairman abductors

Gunmen have abducted the Chairman of the All Progressives Congress in the Ose Local Government Area of Ondo State, Nelson Olaseyinde Adepoyigi.

Adepoyigi, who is the chairman of the APC in Ifon Ward 5 in the local government, was abducted along the Benin-Ifon-Owo Expressway on Monday evening.

The spokesperson for the state Police Command, Olayinka Ayanlade, confirmed the incident on Tuesday, adding that the politician was kidnapped by the entrance to his farm.

He said, “I can confirm to you that the chairman of the APC in Ward 5 was kidnapped at the entrance of his farm along Ifon-Owo road.

“At the receipt of the report, the DPO Ifon, in collaboration with the hunters, local vigilantes, and Nigeria Army personnel, have launched a manhunt for the suspects.”

The PPRO urged anyone with information that could aid the rescue operation to come forward.
