Bishop Stephen Adegbite, the Executive Secretary of the Nigerian Christian Pilgrim Commission, has announced that the Commission will begin the 2025 Easter pilgrimage exercise to Israel and Jordan in July.

NCPC disclosed this in a statement issued in Abuja on Thursday by its Deputy Director and Head of Media and Public Relations, NCPC, Mr Celestine Toruka.

Toruka stated that Adegbite disclosed this during a meeting with members of the Conference of States, comprising Chairmen and Secretaries of the States’ Christian Pilgrims Welfare Boards, including FCT.

The NCPC executive secretary emphasised the importance of teamwork and synergy between the Commission and the States Pilgrimage leaders.

He said, “Pilgrimage is a ministry, and as such, we are all working for God.

“God is our sustaining grace; we have started well, and we are going to finish well.”

Adegbite urged the states participating in the Easter Pilgrimage to mobilise their intending pilgrims for screening by NCPC officials without delay.

He commended the Jigawa State Government for formally inaugurating a new Christian Pilgrims Welfare Board and encouraged other states to constitute their functional boards.

The Chairman of the Conference of States, Bishop David Moradeyo, commended NCPC for the feat it recorded in the 2024 main pilgrimage exercise.
