An unnamed indigene of Ugboha, in Esan South-East LGA, Edo State has accused Governor Monday Okpebholo of neglecting his hometown despite the insecurity that has ravaged the land.
Broadcaster Rufai Oseni, posted this on his X account on Monday, noting that the post was made “as sent” by the unnamed indigene of Ugboha.
The indigene lamented that the once peaceful community has been thrown into fear and chaos by the unchecked activities of some hoodlums who recently killed two people on their farmlands.
Quoting the indigene, Oseni posted “My hometown, Ugboha, in Esan South-East LGA, Edo State is under siege as not less than two persons (a woman and a man) have been killed on their farms within a space of one week, sending fears into the once peaceful community.
“Ugboha youths could not bear the development as they trooped out on Saturday morning protesting the killings, the recent one being on this immediate past Friday morning.
This killing happened a day after the Governor, Sen. Monday Okpebholo, came with the APC team on the Senatorial elections campaign in the town.
“The youths cried out for Government intervention and expressed disappointment that since the incident on Friday, the Governor had not shown any concern.”
