Solomon Aguele, the pioneer chairman of the Edo State chapter of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) is dead.
The deceased served as Edo PDP chairman between 1999 and 2007, making him the first chairman of the party in the state.
Aguele’s demise was confirmed on Monday in a statement by the caretaker chairman of the PDP in Edo, Anthony Aziegbemi.
Aziegbemi said late Aguele served the party with distinction and dedication, adding that his leadership contributed to the growth of PDP in Edo.
He said, “Chief Aguele was a committed leader whose steadfastness, wisdom, and devotion to democratic ideals laid the strong foundation upon which our party continues to stand today. His leadership during the formative years of our great party in Edo State was pivotal to the growth and successes recorded.
“We extend our heartfelt condolences to his family, friends, political associates, and all who mourn his departure. Chief Aguele will be remembered for his humility, loyalty, and enduring contributions to the PDP and the development of Edo State.”
