Every man should practice polygamy, Ned Nwoko preaches

Senator Ned Nwoko has stirred controversy by advocating for polygamy, stating that every man should practice it, sparking debate on marriage and relationships.

The lawmaker who represents Delta North stated this on Sunday night while appearing on Channels Television, stating that he pities men who have only one wife.

Nwoko argued that polygamy gives men stability and balance in their homes, adding that managing more than one wife is the ideal marital structure for men.

While insisting that he has no regrets about his own marriages, Nwoko said, “That is a different topic for discussion on another day. Yes, every man should do that. The example I give is this: just imagine telling you to stand on one foot or leg. You know how difficult it is. But to stand on two, three, four is much more balanced. That’s just the example I give. So I feel sorry for those who have one wife because it’s difficult to stand on one leg.”

When asked about the argument that the Bible does not support polygamy, Nwoko responded, “The Old Testament does. I am a man of faith. But that’s not what we are here for.

“No, I don’t have any regret. I will do the same thing again. Of course, that’s the way it should be. You should marry who you want to marry,” he said about his marital choices.

On allegations of domestic violence in his home, the senator denied them.

“No, come on. You know I am not a violent person. I respect my wives. I love them and my kids,” he added.

The interview followed shortly after his wife, Nollywood actress Regina Daniels, shared photos of their newly acquired mansion on Instagram.

“In my house, I am a Queen! I needed a roof over my head, so I got this for me and my family,” she wrote.

Her post followed a viral video recorded on October 18, where she appeared crying and alleging abuse.

“In Ned Nwoko’s house, I am nothing, but in my own house, I am a Queen. Not again. I can’t stand the violence, it’s too much,” she said in the footage.

The pair, who married in 2019, have two children together. Their union had attracted wide public attention due to their age difference and the politician’s polygamous background.

However, the relationship has recently drawn public scrutiny following Regina’s posts and the senator’s remarks.

Neither party has issued an official joint statement on the state of the marriage.
