A staff of the Federal Capital Territory Administration (FCTA), Hassan Mairiga, has been queried for allegedly leaking some documents indicting the FCT Minister, Nyesom Wike of illegitimately allocating land to his sons.
Mairiga, a Land Resource Officer for the FCTA was queried in a letter dated July 4th and signed by Uzo Udegbunam, the Acting Director, Land Administration.
Recall that a news outlet had earlier accused the former Rivers State governor of allocating hectares of land to his sons, Jordan (25) and Joaquin (23).
The report accused Wike of allocating at least 3,822 hectares of land worth $6.45 billion to his sons since he assumed office as the FCT minister.
The minister has since denied the allegations, stating that it was the handiwork of aggrieved opposition who wants him out of office by all means.
However, in a document by this media outlet, the Land Resource Officer suspected to have leaked the documents indicting the FCT minister was issued a 24-hour ultimatum to respond to the query or face further disciplinary measures.
The FCTA said, “It has come to the attention of the management that you allegedly engaged in acts considered to be serious misconduct, contrary to the provisions of the Public Service Rules (PSR), specifically:
“Unauthorized disclosure of official information to unauthorized persons, which constitutes a clear violation of PSR 100401 and 100402(j).
“Breach of the oath of secrecy and undermining the integrity and confidentiality of his office under 100402(o).
“These actions, if proven, amount to serious misconduct and gross violation of your obligations as a public servant which is detrimental to the image of the service.”
In addition, Mairiga was directed to make a written representation within 24 hours to avoid “further disciplinary measures”.
