Governor Siminalayi Fubara of Rivers State has defected to the All Progressives Congress (APC) from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).
He announced this at a stakeholders meeting at the government house in Port Harcourt on Tuesday.
Recently, Speaker of the Rivers State House of Assembly, Martin Amaewhule, defected from the PDP to the APC.
Also, 15 other lawmakers joined the speaker in his decision to dump the former ruling party.
Amaewhule announced the lawmakers’ decision during plenary on Friday, citing what he described as a “clear division” within the PDP as the reason for their defection.
He declared, “APC is my new party. I will do all that is needed to be done towards ensuring that the party card of the All Progressive congress is issued to me in no time.”
