The All Progressives Congress has appointed Alhaji Ali Bukar Dalori as its Acting National Chairman, following the resignation of Abdullahi Umar Ganduje.
Ganduje resigned on Friday following persistent pressure from party stakeholders, particularly from the North Central region, who have consistently demanded that the chairmanship return to their zone.
Unconfirmed reports say Ganduje’s resignation was largely influenced by his mishandling of the recent FCT Area Council primaries.
Ganduje, who took office in August 2023 after the resignation of Abdullahi Adamu, has since struggled to unify the party.
His exit is seen as a strategic move by the APC to regain internal stability ahead of the 2027 general elections.
