Goalkeeping legend, Peter Rufai dies at 61

Nigerian goalkeeping legend, Peter Rufai, is reportedly dead.

The goal stopper, aged 61, passed away on Thursday morning, July 3, 2025, after a long illness that kept him out of the public eye for some time, an unconfirmed report stated.

As of press time, the bereaved family is yet to announce Rufus’s death.

Rufai appeared in two World Cups and the 1994 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) triumph for the national team.
