Sheikh Ahmad Gumi, a prominent Islamic cleric, has made a serious allegation that external actors are secretly providing terrorists with intelligence and satellite support, purportedly under the guise of protecting Christians in Nigeria.
Gumi expressed his concerns on Friday via Facebook, questioning why such intelligence couldn’t be shared with the Nigerian military if the intention was genuinely to help the country.
“There is ‘Laurence of the Forest’ giving Terrorist intelligence and live satellite imagery to give reason for foreign invasion in the name of protecting ‘Christians’. If they love us, such intelligence would better serve our military,” he wrote.
This statement comes amid heightened tensions and insecurity in Nigeria, particularly following the recent abduction of students and staff from a Catholic school in Niger State.

The exact number of victims remains unclear as the school was still compiling its records as of Friday.
The Kotangora Catholic Diocese in Niger state has issued a statement confirming the incident.
The incident comes just days after terrorists stormed a government school in Kebbi State, kidnapping at least 25 students.
