Nigerian TikTok personality, Hamzat Adelaja, popularly known as Peller has disclosed his reason for converting from being a Muslim to becoming a Christian.
During a TikTok live session with his fans, Peller corrected a viewer who addressed him as a Muslim, saying he is a fervent churchgoer.
“I’m not a Muslim. I go to church very well,” he clarified.
Explaining the reason for the change of faith, Peller said he was emotionally tortured by leaders of the Quranic school he attended as a child.
According to the streamer, his decision to dump Islamic education and subsequently, his faith was influenced by physical punishments which became traumatic for him in his early life.
He said, “I was beaten severely when I was young at the Quranic school. That’s why I stopped going.”
