Iran won’t negotiate with US – Supreme Security Council

Iran’s Supreme National Security Council Secretary, Ali Larijani, has formally stated that the country will not engage in negotiations with the United States.

This declaration comes in response to reports suggesting Iran had sought to initiate talks with the President Donald Trump administration following recent US-Israeli strikes on Iran.

Larijani emphasised that Iran’s stance remains unchanged, prioritising national security and sovereignty.

“We will not negotiate with the United States,” Larijani stated in a post on X on Monday.

He criticised Trump’s policies, accusing him of destabilising the region and prioritsing Israel’s interests over America’s.

Larijani added, “Trump plunged the region into chaos with his ‘delusional fantasies’ and now fears more American troop casualties.

“With his delusional actions, he turned his self-made ‘America First’ slogan into ‘Israel First’ and sacrificed American soldiers for Israel’s power-hungry ambitions.”

A joint strike carried out by U.S. and Israeli forces killed Iran’s supreme leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei and other officials of his regime.

Trump attributed Saturday’s attack to Iran’s nuclear weapons, saying America will never allow Iran own nuclear weapons.

On Sunday, Trump had told The Atlantic that remnants of Khamenei’s regime had reached out to him for negotiations.
