Tragedy struck in the Zagami community in Yankara Ward, Faskari Local Government Area of Katsina State on Wednesday night as a three-day-old baby was reportedly killed by suspected bandits.
This was made public by security analyst Bakatsine in a post he made on X on Thursday morning.
The security analyst also disclosed that the assailants killed several other residents and abducted many others, including the mother of the three-day-old and other children.
The gunmen were said to have stormed the village around 8 pm and opened fire indiscriminately.
Although the exact number of casualties and abductees remains unclear, residents described the incident as one of the most horrifying in recent weeks.
Authorities have yet to issue an official statement, but locals are calling for urgent intervention from security agencies to prevent further attacks in the area.
