LASPA, ministry partner on street parking

As part of efforts to ensure stronger collaboration and synergy for a better parking culture, the Lagos State Parking Authority, on Monday, held a strategic meeting with the Ministry of Local Government, Chieftaincy Affairs and Rural Development.

‎The General Manager, LASPA, Mrs. Adebisi Adelabu, stated that the agency had concluded arrangements for the commencement of the ‘On-Street Parking Campaign’ in some selected zones in the state, including Victoria Island, Ikoyi, Yaba, Ikeja, and Surulere.

‎She noted that the management of LASPA had earlier met with the Chairmen of local government councils and local council development areas to inform them of the proposed campaign, adding that there was a need for the agency to also sensitise members of the various community development associations for their support towards a more successful campaign.

‎She solicited the support of ministry towards facilitating and creating an enabling environment for LASPA to meet with the various CDAS and CDCs in the designated zones for the on-street parking pilot campaign.

‎Responding, the Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Local Government, Chieftaincy Affairs and Rural Development, Mr. Kikelomo Bolarinwa, promised the ministry’s collaboration with LASPA and invited the agency for engagement sessions with the local council officials for a clearer communication channel.
