Actress Linda Ejiofor has expressed grief over the reported death of Nollywood actor Alexx Ekubo, describing the news as deeply painful.
Ejiofor, in a post shared on Facebook on Wednesday, paid tribute to the late actor with emotional words, recalling their friendship and shared memories.
“Alex my dear funny, naughty, kind hearted friend, this is so painful,” she wrote.
The actress also reflected on the playful bond they shared, saying she would miss his jokes and lively presence.
“So I will not hear you call Ibro and I Papa and Mama Venza. This wasn’t the plan o Ikuku, so I won’t see your comments again, yabbing me in my comment section,” she said.
Ejiofor revealed that she and her husband had recently spoken about Ekubo and intended to reach out to him after the Africa Magic Viewers’ Choice Awards.
“And to think Ibro and I talked about you on Saturday morning, but said we will call you after AMVCA because I was too nervous to call before the event,” she added.
She expressed hope that the late actor had found peace, saying, “I know you are resting with our Lord and savior, where there is no more pain.”
Choosing to focus on the moments they shared, Ejiofor wrote, “I choose to remember you for the memories we made together my friend, and for the peaceful, kind, loving soul that you are.”
She ended the tribute with a farewell message: “Rest easy my friend, may the light guide you home.”
The actor died on Tuesday after battling liver cancer for several years.
