The National Agency for Food and Drug Administration and Control (NAFDAC) has denied issuing a press release announcing a recruitment exercise, stating that the information circulating on social media is false.
NAFDAC’s Director-General, Prof. Mojisola Christianah Adeyeye, on Wednesday released a disclaimer stating that a recruitment notice circulating on social media is fake and did not originate from the agency.
“Our attention has been drawn to a fake press release on the planned NAFDAC recruitment exercise circulating on social media.
“While NAFDAC from time to time carries out recruitment exercises to engage qualified Nigerians, the press release in circulation and its content are fake,” the agency said.
The agency warned the public to disregard the false recruitment information and beware of fraudsters, emphasizing that NAFDAC hasn’t announced any recruitment drive.
“NAFDAC has not issued any press release announcing new recruitment,” the statement added.
According to the agency, such fake recruitment notices are often circulated by unscrupulous individuals with the intent of extorting money from unsuspecting job seekers under the guise of application or processing fees.
NAFDAC noted that all its official information, including recruitment announcements, is communicated only through its verified channels.
“Authentic information from NAFDAC is published exclusively on the official NAFDAC website and recognised media platforms,” the agency stated.
The agency advised Nigerians, particularly job seekers, to remain vigilant and to always verify information before acting on recruitment-related announcements, warning that NAFDAC does not charge any fee for employment opportunities.
