Nnamdi Kanu’s brother, Prince Emmanuel Kanu, has raised an alarm over heavy security presence at the house of the detained leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) ahead of crucial court verdict.

Prince Kanu raised the alarm in a post on his official Facebook page on Thursday morning ahead of the long awaited judgment on Kanu’s terrorism-related cases.

He wrote, “Breaking news! Mazi Nnamdi Kanu’s family house is currently surrounded by a large number of security agents. We are alerting the whole world”

Recall that Justice James Omotosho of the Federal High Court in Abuja, is presently delivering judgement on a series of applications filed by the Federal Government against Kanu today.

The separatist, who has been in custody since 2021 is facing seven terrorism-related charges bordering on alleged incitement, running an unlawful group, and acts threatening national security.

This has triggered tension and uncertainty in some areas in the South Eastern part of the country

Earlier, Kanu told the court that he does not trust the judge presiding over his trial, Justice Omotosho, claiming the court is biased and cannot deliver a fair judgment.

The judge had ruled and dismissed three fresh motions filed by Kanu after the case was adjourned for judgment and dismissed them for being unmeritorious.

As the judge moved to deliver the ruling, Kanu argued that the court could not proceed because he was yet to file his final written address.

Justice Omotoso ordered that Kanu be taken out of court after lashing out on him.

On his way out, the IPOB founder lost his cool, shouted at the judge, saying, “Any judgment you do in this court is rubbish, ask him where is the law, ask Omotoso where is the law?”
