Human rights lawyer Deji Adeyanju has predicted that the 2023 candidate of the Labour Party, Peter Obi, cannot be Nigeria’s president.
In a post on his Facebook page, Adeyanju claimed Former Vice President Atiku Abubakar has a better shot at unseating President Bola Tinubu than Obi, saying the actions or inactions of the Obidient Movement, known to be loyal to the former Anambra governor can no longer influence the polls.
He wrote, “Even if Obidients change strategy and become born again; stop political extremism and insulting people online, their candidate cannot be president of Nigeria. It’s too late already.
“Even Atiku has a better chance at the presidency than Obi. That’s how bad his chances are.”
Recall that Obi, who contested for the nation’s number one job in 2023 under the platform of the Labour Party, is currently harboring plans to take another shot in 2027.
His recent alliance with other opposition figures has attracted more supporters to him despite criticism from the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC).
