Folorunso Oladoyin Bamisayemi, popularly known as Bam Bam, a former commissioner of education under the government of ex-Osun governor, Gboyega Oyetola, has resigned his membership of the All Progressives Congress (APC).
In a formal resignation letter dated June 1, 2026, and addressed to the Ward Chairman of the APC in Kere Ward 09, Ife South Local Government Area, Ifetedo, Osun State, Bamisayemi stated that his decision takes immediate effect.
The letter, signed by the former APC member, read in part, “I hereby resign my membership of the All Progressives Congress. Please note that the resignation takes immediate effect. Thank you.”
Hon. Bamisayemi, who holds multiple academic and professional titles including B.Sc., LL.B., BL, and MBA, and is also known as the Odofin of Ayepe Olode, submitted his resignation through his Ile-Ife residence at Iru Esin Villa, Parakin GRA.
Copies of the resignation were also forwarded to party leadership, including the Local Government Chairman of the APC in Ife South Local Government Area, Hon. Gbenga Oladokun.
Although the specific reasons for his exit were not disclosed in the letter, the development has already begun to generate political reactions within local party structures in Ife South.
The resignation comes at a time of renewed internal repositioning within the APC, which remains a dominant political force in Osun State and is closely associated with prominent figures such as former governor Oyetola.
Meanwhile, the development has added a fresh layer of uncertainty to local political dynamics in Ife South Local Government as stakeholders await possible realignments in the ward structure following the exit of the party stalwart.
