Nollywood actor Patrick Doyle has announced the heartbreaking loss of his newborn baby, revealing that the child passed away barely a day after birth.
In an emotional post shared on Facebook on Sunday, the actor disclosed that the baby girl, named Omayinuwa, was born on Friday, April 10, at about 10:40 a.m., but died the following day, Saturday, April 11, at approximately 4:15 p.m.
Doyle described the brief time spent with the child as deeply meaningful, noting that although her stay was short, it brought immense joy to the family.
“Omayinuwa visited us briefly at about 10:40 am on Friday 10th April and returned to heaven on Saturday 11th of April at about 4:15 pm. Her stay was short but it brought great joy with it. We would wished for a longer stay, but alas heaven thought otherwise,” he wrote.
Despite the devastating loss, the actor expressed unwavering faith in God, emphasizing his belief in divine sovereignty even in the face of tragedy.
“This much we know though, God still rules in the affairs of men. Our faith in the goodness of God remains resolute regardless. Sibe’ sibe’ Oluwa n’be’. It is well with our soul,” he added.
Doyle had only a day earlier shared the joyful news of the child’s arrival, announcing the birth on Saturday with gratitude and excitement.
“To the glory of God I announce the precious addition of a female child to my quiver. OMAYINUWA MAYEN HARRIET DOYLE was born yesterday at about 10:40 AM. Mother and child are doing well and daddy is overwhelmed with joy and gratitude to God Almighty,” he had written.
The announcement of the baby’s passing has since drawn an outpouring of condolences.
