Owode Onirin unrest: Abiodun Ariori declared wanted

The LagosStatePoliceCommand has declared wanted one Abiodun Ariori in connection with the clash between traders and suspected land grabbers at the Owode Onirin area of the state.

This was contained in a statement by the command’s spokesperson, CSP Benjamin Hundeyin, who said the CEO of Prosperous Ariori Golden Venture Limited is wanted in connection with the alleged killing of three people and injury to a police Inspector whose life is said to be in danger.

The statement added that the Commissioner of Police, Lagos State Command, Olohundare Jimoh, led a combined team of police detachment comprising personnel of the command’s operations department to the scene to restore normalcy.

Jimoh retained the deployment of adequate police personnel at the scene of the incident to prevent a resurgence of the crisis and sustain normalcy.

Ariori was advised to turn himself in.

The CP has also ordered an orderly room trial for the four policemen, brought in from outside Lagos State by the wanted suspect.

In another development, the police have refuted the ethnic colouration given the Balogun Market fight.

The command said it was a free-for-all between some hoodlums and miscreants during which one Ebuka Adindu from Abia State stabbed one Sodiq Ibrahim from Kogi State to death and the said Ebuka Adindu in turn stabbed himself in the shoulder and became unconscious.

According to the statement, Adindu, is currently being treated in the hospital.
