Singer Yinka Ayefele on Tuesday received the gift of a new brand Sports Utility Vehicle from the Governor of Oyo State, Seyi Makinde.
This follows the fire incident that engulfed the Music House of the broadcaster, and Chairman of an Ibadan-based, Fresh FM Radio 105.9 last Friday.
Speaking during the presentation at the Music House, Challenge, Ibadan, Governor Makinde, who represented by the Commissioner for Local Government and Chieftaincy Matters, Otunba Ademola Ojo, commended Ayefele for his resilience and enduring contributions to the media and entertainment industry in Oyo State and Nigeria at large.
The governor said, “On behalf of the State Governor, Makinde, and the State Government, we are here to commiserate with you. You are a symbol of perseverance and inspiration to millions of Nigerians.
“On behalf of the Governor and the state government, we present this gift to you.”
The inferno, which gutted sections of the media house last Friday, destroyed property worth millions of naira, leaving Ayefele and his team counting heavy losses.
It would be recalled that Makinde had earlier visited the station a day after the inferno to commiserate with Ayefele and assess the extent of the damage.
