
A fire outbreak on Tuesday afternoon engulfed parts of Afriland Tower, a six-storey building on Broad Street, Lagos Island.
The incident was confirmed by the Deputy Controller General of the Lagos State Fire and Rescue Service, Ogabi Olajide.
According to Olajide, the agency received the emergency call at exactly 1:38 PM today, prompting a swift response from firefighters from the Ebute Elefun and Sari Iganmu Fire Stations.
According to reports, the fire started in the inverter room located in the basement of the building.
“Evacuation of occupants is in progress, while firefighting operations have been concluded, dousing the earlier panic before the arrival of the first responders,” the statement said
