A faction of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) led by its newly elected National Chairman Kabiru Tanimu Turaki (SAN) has filed a formal police complaint against expelled Senator Samuel Anyanwu and several others.

Turaki and a delegation of senior party leaders arrived at the Nigeria Police Force Headquarters in Garki, Abuja, to lodge a complaint.

This development comes just 24 hours after the PDP’s National Convention in Ibadan, where Anyanwu, the party’s former National Secretary, was expelled alongside prominent figures like FCT Minister Nyesom Wike and ex-Ekiti Governor Ayo Fayose.

Turaki, accompanied by other party leaders, is seeking police action against Anyanwu and his cohorts, marking a significant escalation in the intra-party conflict.

The expulsion of Anyanwu and others was based on allegations of anti-party activities, and the PDP faction stated that it is determined to take all necessary steps to protect its integrity.
