In a deft move to stabilise the People Democratic  Party, its governor, after its meeting in Ibadan, Oyo State Capital on Monday, ratified Udeh Okoye as the substantive National Secretary of the party.

The PDP Governors Forum, in its communique read by the Chairman and Governor of Bauchi State, Sen. Bala Mohammed, said it stood by its earlier decision in Asaba, recognising Udeh-Okoye as the substantive National Secretary of the PDP.

The Forum, however, at the meeting, resolved that in the wake of the recent judgement of the Supreme Court, the Deputy National Secretary is recommended to act as National Secretary to allow the South-East Zone to nominate the substantive National Secretary.

The South-East Zone, which had stood by its nomination of Udeh-Okoye is now expected to, in the wake of the Supreme Court Judgment, return Udeh-Okoye to the National Working Committee of the party as its nomination for the position in line with the provision of the Constitution of the PDP (as amended in 2017)
